Our APM 115mm f7 apo is the successor, so to speak, to the now discontinued APM 100/800, so we differ from the many 4" apos on the market by having somewhat more aperture and with the resulting visibly higher resolution, but also achieve an optical quality and chromatic aberration correction that no other apos of this size even come close to.
Even with a focal length of only 805mm, it can still achieve an extremely wide maximum 3.4° field of view when using a 2" wide angle eyepiece. Also, this model will never show even a hint of colour fringing no matter to what magnification is used. This is of particular importance to planetary observing, where any residual chromatic aberration would lead to a smearing of the finest details.
Delivery includes tube ring clamps, GP rail, 50mm finder bracket and a retractable dew shield. It uses a 2" FeatherTouch focuser (made in United States) with a 1:10 micro reduction ratio. The 2" focuser is screwed into a drawtube, which creates a usable back focus of 240mm, which in turn allows the use of a bino-viewer with a 2" star diagonal, without having to use a Barlow lens. The OTA is optimized for use with a 2" star diagonal.
