We produce this version with retractable dew shield, 50mm quick-release finder bracket, tube ring clamps, GP mounting rail, a 2" Starlight FeatherTouch focuser with 1:10 micro-reduction gear with a drawtube between focuser and OTA for quick focusing.
This version lets you photograph with CCD or 35mm SLR camera and use a wide field bino-viewer without need of a Barlow/glass path corrector. For widefield astrophotography, we recommend the use of a TeleVue 0.80X field flattener.
This new long focal length 3-lens element full apo is designed with a polychromatic brightness definition of 98% and now has chromatic aberration correction that gives an image which, in practice, is really only comparable with reflector optics. One could simply refer to the optical quality as being perfect. The long focal length and consequently lower demands on eyepiece geometry mean magnifications are possible with this model which can be achieved by virtually no other high-end apo of the same size. Despite its size, this apo is still fully portable and can be used on affordable ordinary mounts.
