Product description

The N 130 / 650 telescope:

This telescope is a good starting point for new amateur astronomers. With 30% more light gathering capacity than a 114mm telescope, even more fascinating celestial objects can be observed by amateur astronomer newbies. The 130mm aperture and 650 mm focal length high-performance optics allow you to observe many nebulae and other DSOs. With an f5 aperture ratio, the telescope is also ideal for wide field observing. Breathtakingly beautiful Open clusters are well worth seeking out too. Its short length means that the telescope is very stable, even on smaller mounts, with vibrations damping down very quickly. The external design can also be considered a real gem, boasting an elegant design of the highest calibre.

The advantages in a nutshell:

  • 344X light gathering power
  • vibration resistant and wind insensitive due to compact design
  • diffraction limited parabolic primary mirror
  • high contrast image due to extra-thin secondary spider vanes
  • highly portable and quickly assembled

  1. Included in delivery:

  • tube with optics
  • focuser
  • eyepieces
  • finder

The mounting EQ-2:

This parallytic mounting bares already the opportunity to arrange optics exactely to the polestar. For each watching-place, the right pole-height/geographic amplitude can be set. The objects can be set and tracked with fine movements in the right ascension- and declination-axe.
The aluminium three leg-tripod is extendable in a height from 71 cm up to 121 cm.

Also for children.

Not bad for the price

I received this telescope today and I just finished checking it out with the moon and Jupiter. The features of the moon were clearly visible, they were spectacular. At 130x magnification, which means I used the 2x barlow and the 10mm eyepiece that come with the scope, I could see some features of Jupiter and two bright dots that I assume were its moons. However, vibration did not allow me to enjoy the view. The telescope has a plastic&metal focuser, comes with a plastic barlow, two PS eyepieces (10mm, 25mm), a moon filter with plastic rim, and finally a Spica EQ-2 mount. The description claim that the telescope is suitable for both planetary and other galactic observations, for astrophotograghy, and that it's recommended for both beginners and advanced users.

After checking and actual testing, while the scope is very good for moon (our moon, the moon) observation, however, it's not so good for planetary, Nebulae & galaxies observations and absolutely not suitable for astrophotography. I give it 3 stars for its low price, otherwise if you can afford it, pay more to get a better scope.
