Good model for beginners

90 SLT with 1250mm focal length is a good model for the beginners. Max. useful magnification is actually slighly higher than 180, I feel it is around 200. The included 25mm & 9mm eyepiece are a good start, but soon I felt it was not enough for me. So I bought a Zoom Okular and a 2x Barlow lense and a couple of color filters. Zoom Okular is useful as I do not have to switch eyepiece between 9 and 25 constantly, and zooming makes one feel like flying in the space. 2x Barlow lense is said to be a must for every telescope owner, it is useful as it makes every eyepiece 2x, but one must be careful with the max.magnification of the telescope. When max.magnification is reached or exceeded, the view becomes extremely unstable and blur. In fact, I never really saw the red spot of Jupiter. The color filters are not so useful except the Pol, which I use for the moon watching, at least it will not blind my eyes any more. This telescope is said for Nebulae & galaxies, but I haven't seen any yet, maybe it is because of the light pollution here. However, it is amazing to see seven sisters. If you do not have a tight budget and weight isn't an issue, you can choose one with higher focal length.
Overall, I think this telescope has a good price/performance ratio and the service from astroshop is good.
