People were already using the sundial to measure time back in ancient times.
This combination instrument from the firm of St. Leonard lets you tell the time as the Sun moves across the sky.
This hand-crafted replica of an 18th century sundial makes a wonderful gift and brings a piece of our heritage to your home. But it is not just an attractive bit of nonsense; this instrument is designed to be actually used. Align the sundial with the adjustment screws provided and determine the latitude of your location with the included compass. The folding gnomon (shadow pointer) then lets you tell the time via the hour ring, which is labelled with Roman numerals.
The instrument can be folded together. It then measures: diameter 75mm, height 40mm.
