Orion 254/1200 OTA with 2" Crayford focuser
The huge optics of 254mm Newtonian telescope are among the largest among popular amateur astronomy formats: the light gathering power is more than 3X as great as for a 114mm telescope, so that even the faintest detail in deep sky objects can be observed. The detail in beautiful planetary nebulae becomes visible and galaxies are seen not just as blurry patches but it is even possible to make out individual spiral arms. These optics can also give brilliant results when used for astrophotography: the short exposures possible, thanks to the high light gathering power of the optics, allow spiral galaxies and colored nebulae to be captured with a digital or SLR camera.
OTA version: ONLY the telescope tube with a 2" Crayford focuser, WITHOUT mount and WITHOUT tripod!
