Product description

SLV eyepieces offer maximum observing comfort thanks to their 20mm eye relief even at the shortest eyepiece focal lengths. Residual chromatic aberration is reduced to an absolute minimum by employing high quality lanthanum glasses. All air-glass surfaces are provided with a sophisticated multi -layer hard coating which reduces by irritating reflections and ghosting to an absolute minimum and optimizes light transmission. Naturally, all lens edges are blackened.

Screw-up eyecups allow spectacle wearers to observation with the SLV eyepieces and effectively reduce stray light.

The unique imaging characteristics of SLV eyepieces mean that they are also the ideal tool for astrophotography using a digital camera.

Customer reviews

Excellent planetary eyepiece for eyeglass-wearers. Pricey though.

( 4 / 5 )

As an eyeglass-wearer with astigmatism this is the best short-focal length eyepiece I have ever used. The long eye-relief makes observing with eyeglasses easy as a breeze, and the image is extremely sharp almost to the edge, with remarkably good contrast.

Field of view is fairly narrow compared with modern eyepieces at this price-point. However, in reality the full theoretical field of view is achievable when wearing eyeglasses, meaning that this eyepiece shows me a much wider field of view than any wide-field eyepiece I have tried while wearing eyeglasses.

Only downsides are price and field of view. Being an eyeglass-wearer the price-tag is worth it, but observers who don't need eyeglasses may be able to find lower-priced alternatives that give similar performance and offer a wider field of view.

Recommended.
