Founded in 1989 in Clermont-Ferrand, France, PlanetObserver has specialised from the outset in the processing of satellite images and the production of aerial photograph mosaics in true-to-life colours covering wide areas, which, towards the end of the 1980s, was an absolutely innovative concept.

PlanetObserver developed Terra Cognita, the world's first satellite image mosaic, in true-to-life colours, composed of 8,600 satellite images.
