Telescopes:Meade's Polaris telescopes range offer small telescopes with many accessories on an equatorial mount at a very reasonable price.
The mount is used with one axis aligned on the Pole Star, meaning you only need to move the telescope on one axis to compensate for the movement of the night sky. This is not only convenient, but also makes for easier orientation using a star chart.
This tracking can be done by hand, using the flexible slow-motions provided, or via a small motor which is available as an optional accessory. Polaris telescopes come with a steel tube tripod for better stability.
