Product description

Immersion oil is used to increase the numerical aperture of the objective lens. Immersion oil allows you to observe microscope samples with higher resolution and magnification power. By using oil immersion technique, you significantly reduce light loss in the lens.

Initially, immersion oil was manufactured using cedar tree oil, but this oil tends to get thicker with time and lose its properties. Immersion oils used nowadays are synthetic and meet all quality standards. Thus, the immersion oil must be transparent and free of impurities that can cause clouding of the lens and image distortion. It also must have a refractive index equal to that of the lens and the slide.

We offer high-quality immersion oil that meets all the necessary standards and is safe for the objective lens. Levenhuk immersion oil can be easily removed from the lens. It is suitable for all microscope types except for fluorescent microscopes. After you finish your observations, the oil must be wiped off the lens with a soft cloth. You should also clean the slides with a cloth soaked in a cleaning solvent. The immersion oil forms a film on the lens, which should be occasionally removed with a solvent.

Storage Instructions: keep in a tightly closed container at room temperature below 30°C (86°F) away from direct sunlight.

Nominal volume: 5 ml.
