Compare to a tripod, a monopod has the advantage of increased manoeuvrability and speed. This is ideal if you do not want to observe or take photos from a fixed location and want to move around the land instead. When in use, a monopod helps to hold the lens steady.
Additionally, a monopod is particularly easy to transport to its site of use, e.g. when packing for a journey.
The tripod is equipped with a Stand Spider. It has a ball and socket joint which enables tilting up to 18°. The tripod can be folded up so that it can also be used as a classic monopod.
This tripod benefits from a hydraulic damping system (fluid head) which allows the tripod head to move more smoothly. This is significant when filming videos, as video clips with no shaking or abrupt movements are easier on the eye.
