The AP 130/860 optics:
- Light-gathering three-element apochromat with FPL-53 element from Ohara in temperature-compensated mount
- CNC-machined aluminium tube with internal baffles - three back focuses available - all accessories can be used without any problems
- Rotatable 3" focuser with 1:10 fine drive
The Photoline Apo refractor offers excellent imaging performance. Even with extreme contrasts, no annoying colour errors will be visible with this Apo. Astrophotographers can enjoy cleanly defined stars without blue colour fringing. To maintain the high quality, each Apo is tested on the optical bench and optimally adjusted beforehand.
The mechanics of the Apo are also world class. The CNC-machined tube offers three focus positions so that every conceivable accessory can be connected (back focus: 250 mm / 190 mm / 130 mm):
- Shortest position (without extension rings): Suitable for the large Riccardi Reducer with M82 screw thread and for binocular use without glass path compensation – even with a 2" diagonal mirror, you can easily achieve the focal plane.
- Middle position (one extension ring): Suitable for the TS 2.5" full-frame corrector without focal length change
- Longest position (two extension rings): Suitable for visual observation with 2" diagonal mirrors and for photography of the Moon and planets with eyepiece projection or Barlow lenses.
The excellent rack and pinion focuser is used as the focuser, which is superior to any Crayford focuser.
The APO is suitable for astrophotography and observation. The moderate aperture ratio of f/6.6 achieves a high light intensity for astrophotography, which can even be increased to f/4.97 with the well-known Riccardi Reducer. Any corrector from our range can be used without any problems. The moderate aperture ratio also allows high magnifications to be achieved without colour aberrations. Even at magnifications of over 300x, focusing is no problem.
