The Starling Shared Observatory Controller is a central automation and control controller for observatories. Designed for professional and semi-professional users, it combines roof control, security monitoring and automation in one device – ideal for observatories with multiple users!
Main functions:
- Multi-user access: Role-based system with Sentinel (observatory manager) and clients (users) ensures conflict-free control.
- Safety integration: The Sentinel can take over at any time and monitor safety conditions.
- Dome support: Integrates automated dome systems with Caterpillar SSR, third-party motors, VFD motors or linear actuators.
- Access & operation: Web interface optimised for desktop, tablet and mobile devices – no separate app required.
- API & ASCOM: Easy API integration and ASCOM compatibility enable use with popular astronomy software.
- Local controls: Physical buttons or switches can be connected for manual operation on site.
