This is the mirror that has aroused so much interest in the United States. Normal diagonal mirrors degrade in quite a short time. Competitors' mirrors had only 70% reflectivity remaining after only a short period, rather than the 96% promised. Incidentally, this dielectric mirror coating is not metallic but rather consists of 53 individual coating layers - like an expensive nebula filter. So this mirror cannot degrade, and you can clean it as normal without damaging the reflective layer.
