I bought a full set of bags for standard EQ6. They are extremely sturdy, well padded, look good, and are a snug fit for the tripod, mount, and counterweights. They split the weight manageably and offer shoulder and handgrips that are strong enough for the job. The mount bag has pockets that can be used to stow the leg tensioner and eyepiece tray. There is room also for the hand controller if you take care not to forget this is a vulnerable part and could be damaged despite the padding by the weight of the mount and rough treatment. The tripod bag length is given as 84cm whereas I measured my retracted legs as 86 and the azimuth adjuster stop adds 3cm. The soft bag is designed to accommodate this and the product is completely suitable for the purpose it was designed for. These three bags, plus the eyepieces and accessories bag, and the OTA hard case can be taken to the car in foldable camping handcart and the whole lot (cart and all) can be transported with the seats down. There is virtually no risk of damage to either the instrument or the car when travelling to and from a dark site. Everything is smart tidy and safe at home too, and ready to go.
