To mark the 50th anniversary of the first ascent of Mount Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in May 1953, renowned mapmaker National Geographic has published this impressive map.
It is printed on both sides:
- The front of the poster shows a view of the mountains. It is a digital computer model and was created from infrared images taken by the Space Shuttle combined with stereo images taken from an aircraft. National Geographic has thus succeeded in producing this outstanding wall map with its usual brand quality.
- The reverse side shows a map of Sagarmatha National Park and its surroundings.
Three map sections and informative tables describe the Sherpas (Scherpas (Eastern people)), their special places in the area and the number of visitors to this region. You will also find the routes of the most famous expeditions on this Mount Everest map.
An impressive map and a must-have for every Mount Everest fan!
