Your future you will, of this "glass ball" not read, but rather the future weather. The famous Fitzroy Stormglass is now available in the form of drops.
The storm glass, also called Campherglas, was invented before the beginning of the 17th century. It consists of a hermetically sealed glass body with a mixture of water, ethanol, camphor, potassium nitrate and ammonium chloride, in the form depending on weather conditions and crystals dissolve again. It was used mainly by sailors, to predict weather changes.
Became famous the Stormglass by Admiral Robert Fitzroy, mitreiste on the HMS Beagle, Charles Darwin and made his groundbreaking discoveries. Along with Darwin he worked during these almost five year journey out the interpretation of crystal growth.
The storm glass is intended to be predictable over a period of about 24 to 36 hours.
One possible cause of changes in the crystals is seen in so-called Sferics which are pulse-way electromagnetic waves occurring long range, go back for example to thunderstorms.
Please note: The Fitzroy Storm glass is made of thin glass. It is for this reason not a toy! It is supplied in a stable foam packaging.
