I was using a cheap adapter from Amazon before. It worked fine until I tried to update my firmware on my EQ 5 Pro Mount, where it would constantly abort the update. Because of this I lost a whole clear night since I could not operate my mount anymore. So, lesson learned: better be safe than sorry.

The update worked on the first try with this adapter here and I have had no issues what so ever so far with it.
