Here, in southern Europe, the Sun goes very high in the sky by day time and it
can easily damage a black scope (like mine) if left mounted without proper shielding.
The Geoptik cover is very good at reflecting the Sun, no direct radiation reaches
the scope, but the scope warms 5 to 10C degrees over air temperature because
the cover gets very hot and it transfers some energy to the scope by diffusion. Not a
big issue most of the time.
The 180cm version is really big, it fully covers my 8" newton on EQ mount, no way for
moisture to get inside.
Materials are high quality and build quality is also high.
A good purchase.
