The reducer/corrector reduces the focal length, increases the light intensity and corrects the field.
The reducer is designed for sensors up to APS-C format. Unlike the Riccardi Reducer, this reducer does not require extreme back focus. It can be used on all refractors designed for 2" and have a focuser from 2.5".
Distance between T2 thread and camera sensor. The distance depends on the focal length of the refractor:
- Focal length up to 350 mm: 70 mm
- Focal length up to 420 mm: 65 mm
- Focal length 450-500 mm: 61 mm
- Focal length 510-600 mm: 58 mm
- Focal length 610-700 mm: 57 mm
- Focal length 710-790 mm: 56 mm
- Focal length from 800 mm: 55 mm
The corrector is a further development of the well-known RICCARDI REDUCER. The 3-element design with ED element offers very good correction performance in the field, which cannot be achieved with simple 0.8x reducers.
Unlike the Riccardi correctors, this corrector can be used on any refractor with a 2" focuser. If you can use a 2" diagonal mirror, you will have no problems focusing with the PHOTOLINE Reducer.
For those who prefer screw-in solutions, there is also an M54x0.75 external thread at the end of the 2" barrel. Many focusers already have a corresponding internal thread. Using adaptors, you can also adapt the TSRED279 to focusers with other threads.
