You can identify with absolute certainty when you have reached perfect focus. You no longer need to stick to focus by trial and error!
- Fit the mask onto the telescope and point it at a bright star.
- Switch on the camera and perform an observation of the constellation via Live View or on your computer.
- Use a star of medium brightness for focusing; it should not be too bright but not too dim either. The diffraction fringes must be clearly visible.
- The star should not be exactly in the centre, as the field of view of the corrected telescope or lens is often not 100% flat. Choose a star in the outer third of the field. This will give you better overall sharpness across the entire image.
The item is made from PETG using a 3D printing process and is dimensionally stable up to 80°C.
