Quality from Sheffield. The robust blade of the Ibberson sailor's knife is made from high-performance AISI 420 stainless steel and has been hand-polished to a high shine. Thanks to the specially developed double-sharp serrated edge, the blade can even cut through the most modern rope fibres. The separately swivelling shackle opener made of AISI 420 steel is ideal for various shackle sizes thanks to its tapered design and also features a bottle opener. A lockable marlin spike, satin-finished stainless steel handle scales, an integrated screwdriver and a knotted cotton cord at the end of the handle complete the features.

420 steel
Material information:
420 steel is mainly used when knife manufacturers want to keep the price-performance ratio low. The material is very corrosion-resistant, i.e. rust-free. However, this type of steel needs to be sharpened quite frequently. This is very easy to do. Of course, there are higher-quality knife steels, but this quality is usually sufficient for most applications.
