This TS Skylight filter is an important accessory for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. It performs two important functions:
1. The Skylight filter reduces light pollution in cities. This effect is intentionally not very strong – only the largest sources of stray light are filtered out, while most light passes through the filter. This allows you to leave the filter permanently mounted, even for galaxies and star clusters which would normally not be visible through stronger filters.
2. The Skylight filter offers ideal dust protection for your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. It seals the rear part of the body tube, preventing any penetration of dust. The filter is almost scratchproof, meaning that it is possible to clean it carefully by hand. Please use the Spudz microfiber cleaning cloth for best results.
