Amgala 001 is a beautiful meteorite discovered in 2022 in the Western Sahara near the village of Meharrize. This meteorite is officially classified as a Mars shergottite and is one of only 307 meteorites of this type.

The physical characteristics of Amgala 001 reveal its extraordinary journey through space. The surface of the stone is weathered brown and has a characteristic unevenness. However, upon closer analysis, experts discovered a lush green-grey Kern inside, illuminated by darker olivine phenocrystals, which give the meteorite its unique beauty.
