Microscopes for gynaecology
In these specialist areas, microscopes must be quick, uncomplicated and effective to use. You will usually be checking for micro-organisms in untreated specimens. This can be done, for example, by staining with methylene blue or - even faster - by using the microscope’s special contrast method. You can read more about which microscope features you will need for this purpose in this article.
The combination of a special phase objective and a phase contrast slider placed under the stage in the light path is recommended. This combination suddenly turns transparent, otherwise barely visible cells into easily recognisable, high-contrast structures. An additional 100x objective can provide even more certainty of identification if required.
A summary of our minimum recommended configuration: a normal 10x objective for transmitted light techniques and additionally a 40x objective with phase contrast capability. If you prefer, you can also order a 10x phase contrast objective to identify cell layers even faster and more reliably. This assures diagnostic quality.
Anything else besides? The rapid exchange of information between specialists is important - both in the hospital laboratory and the doctor's surgery. In a doctor's surgery in particular, it may be interesting for some patients to be able to see what the doctor is doing. Why not satisfy this interest? Microscopes for gynaecology are naturally also available with a camera and a compact monitor. If you choose a camera with WLAN function, you can also use it together with a portable tablet. So, as a doctor, you can share what you yourself are seeing. A fantastic added value that is worth significantly more than the price of the individual components.
