Azimuth single-arm mount with finely adjustable worm gear, high load capacity and height-adjustable metal tripod!
The ATZ is a versatile and elegant mount. It is very easy to use: the ATZ comes with an integrated friction mechanism. Loosen the clamps and you have a very sensitive swivel mechanism with almost no resistance. You can adjust the resistance to suit your requirements. The ATZ does not need to be clamped. Simply pan roughly to your target and then use the fine adjustment to comfortably centre the object or follow a slow-moving object.
Fast coupling: The ATZ has an innovative fast coupling. This allows you to mount any instrument, from telephoto lenses, spotting scopes and binoculars to astronomical telescopes. The fast coupling allows mounting and exact weight balancing within seconds.
The ATZ has many possible applications:
- Earth observation: Set it up and get started – it's easy with the ATZ. The height-adjustable aluminium tripod allows flexible viewing at heights of 90 to 130 centimetres. Mount your binoculars or spotting scope to the ATZ and you have free panning options. Birdwatchers, for example, can follow their target in the trees and keep it exactly in the centre thanks to the micro fine adjustment.
- Photography: Attach your telephoto lens to the mount using suitable photo prism rails. The ATZ is an excellent alternative to photo tripods. The advantages of the ATZ over conventional photo tripods are obvious. The ATZ is more stable than most photo tripods and has a fine adjustment that really deserves its name. The ATZ is a REAL gear-driven mount. In addition, you can balance the telephoto lens perfectly. This allows for particularly sensitive panning.
- Astronomy: This is what the mount was built for. The ATZ is an excellent mount for beginners. No north alignment is necessary – just set it up and get started. Nevertheless, all options for successful astronomical observation are available. With the fine adjustment, you can comfortably centre the moon and planets even at 300x magnification, and swivels up to the zenith are also possible.
- Travel: A special advantage of the ATZ is that you can remove the fork arm from the base in seconds. This gives you two travel-friendly units that can be reassembled in a matter of seconds.
A particularly practical feature is the adjustment of the fork arm's inclination: you can set the fork arm vertically or tilt it in two stages (70° or 45°). The vertical position is ideal for very short instruments or if you mainly want to observe the Earth. The 70 and 45 degree angles are useful for astronomical applications when you want to swing longer instruments freely towards the zenith. This prevents the telescope from bumping into a tripod leg. An angle is also useful for binoculars in astronomical use, as it allows you to achieve a more comfortable viewing position.
