Fancy a short hike? How about the Pacific Crest Trail? This is a 4,279-kilometre-long hiking trail in the western United States. It runs from the Mexican to the Canadian border and offers countless natural beauties. Just the thing for hikers!
Every year, around 300 to 400 long-distance hikers (thru-hikers) attempt to complete this route. Many only hike through the national parks, of which there are many along the way. The Pacific Crest Trail starts in Campo in Southern California.
In addition to the Pacific Crest Trail, there is also the Appalachian Trail and the Continental Divide Trail. These three are also known as the Triple Crown trails. Anyone who completes all three trails in their lifetime receives the "Triple Crowner" award .
