Only two thirds of the starry sky is visible from Central Europe. However, if you travel south, the stars of the southern sky, which are not visible from here, rise up and are among the most impressive landscapes in the sky. The skyscout south is designed as an "always with you" tool for travelling from the Mediterranean Sea to South Africa.
The coordinated set of maps allows you to quickly familiarise yourself with the southern starry sky. Ten maps show the sky from the Mediterranean Sea (37° north), the Canary Islands (23° north), the equator (0°) and from Namibia/Chile (23° south) and South Africa/Australia (37° south). Detailed maps show the unfamiliar constellations from the Southern Cross to the Peacock, with the best celestial objects for binoculars and small telescopes.
All descriptions are beginner-friendly and easy to understand – perfect for your first expeditions into the southern sky.
