Autoguiding, or automatic tracking control, is recommended for long-exposure deep sky photography. This method has proven itself with both inexpensive and high-quality mounts. If you use an off-axis guider (OAG), you save yourself the purchase and installation of a second optical system (guide tube) for guiding.
Moravian continues to follow this path and screws the new OAG directly to the housing of the G2 series cameras.
Further advantages:
- The optimised position of the prism prevents shadowing on the camera sensor.
- The length of the Off Axis Guider is ideal for achieving a working distance of exactly 55 mm
- The Off-Axis Guider is ideal for the Moravian G0 Autoguider, as the distances are exactly right
- Other autoguiders can be connected via a 1.25" barrel
Connecting the OAG:
- For G2FW cameras with an internal filter wheel, you must use the spacer to achieve a working distance of exactly 55 mm from the connection thread on the telescope side to the camera sensor.
- For G2 cameras with an external filter wheel, connect the Off-Axis-Guider directly, using the shorter screws, then you will have exactly 55 mm working distance from the connection thread on the telescope side to the camera sensor.
