High-speed camera using 59 frames per second - makes the planets even sharper
The Touptek G3M178C camera is changing the way people will photograph nebulae and planets in the future. At 59 frames per second, the new high-speed camera is now 3 times faster (compared to the 51382), but is equally sensitive. This ensures even sharper planetary photos, as atmospheric turbulence has no chance of blurring the picture.
It boasts a high 6.4 megapixels resolution and a large chip area. This camera is also excellent for deep sky objects as its 14-bit dynamics ensure exposures have more dynamic range - making your photos even more beautiful. This camera lets your astronomy photos work at full blast. And you get them even faster.
The advantages at a glance:
- Highly sensitive and low-noise CMOS sensor
- Rolling shutter for fast and brilliant images
- Perfect for deep sky photography and guiding
- High resolution and large image field: 3096x2080 pixels
- 2.4μm - ideal for precise guiding
State-of-the-art CMOS sensor with higher sensitivity
The heart of this camera is a new sensor from Sony using STARVIS and Exmor R technology which makes it possible to capture images of faint nebulae in an undreamt of way. But what is behind this? The special technology employs a back-illuminated sensor with extremely high sensitivity and producing less noise. Your exposures benefit from a clearer picture with finer details. The photodiodes remain completely free of shadowing, in contrast to ordinary sensors. That means that more light is available, allowing you to use shorter exposures for even faint astronomical objects. You also benefit from a level of contrast that shows your deep-sky objects beautifully.
Better pictures thanks to a rolling shutter
The CMOS sensor is equipped with a rolling shutter. The image is not recorded completely in one go, but one line of the chip is recorded at a time, while light continues to reach the other pixels. This also increases the sensitivity, reduces image noise and makes image acquisition faster.
