This adapter allows you to directly connect your SLR camera to a Powertank.
The adapter converts the 12V DC voltage provided by the Powertank to the 7.4V required by the camera.
Powertanks are very popular portable batteries often used in astronomy. They provide a reliable power source for the mount. Powertanks have a 12V cigarette lighter socket, usually more than just one - allowing you to also connect your camera to the battery. So, in addition to the camera's internal batteries, you have an additional power supply option and hence more security. The Powertank must usually be charged before the observing session.
