  • The large-format sky atlas for astrophotographers and observers

Product description

The Panorama Atlas Deep Sky combines maximum clarity with impressive depth of detail. 13,500 deep-sky objects are shown on the huge double-page spreads in the context of their region of the sky. Astrophotographers and visual observers thus gain access not only to thousands of rewarding targets, but also to the context of the cosmic sky.

The Panorama Atlas Deep Sky offers a wealth of useful details. For most of the objects listed, brightness values are indicated directly next to the object. Numerous well-known catalogues, from Abell to Zwicky, are included, with many new discoveries from Gaia having been incorporated. A comprehensive index with 17,000 entries rounds off this impressive work.

The authors:

  • Joachim Gründler, born in 1957, studied biology in Marburg and worked in the pharmaceutical industry. As a child, he observed the starry sky through his father’s binoculars and saved up for his first telescope at the age of 14. After retiring, he took up the hobby again and now photographs deep-sky objects through his telescope. Together with three friends, he founded the ‘Sternfreunde Minden’.
  • Olle Eriksson is a software engineer and amateur astronomer. He lives in southern Sweden. His interest in astronomy was sparked at the age of 15 when he discovered a book on telescope construction. He began exploring the heavens with an 8-inch telescope he had built himself. This atlas is based on one of three freely available sets of charts produced in this way.
