UVEX is a particularly versatile spectrograph. Thanks to its achromatic design, it can penetrate far into the ultraviolet and infrared range - to the limits of what today's cameras can achieve. The interchangeable grating enables different resolutions. In combination with its optional motorisation module, it can be operated remotely.
The UVEX is a "crossed" Czerny-Turner spectroscope that is optimised for wavelengths from the near UV range (<350 nm) to the near IR range (1 µm). We recommend using the ZWO Camera ASI 533 MM Pro Mono with the UVEX spectrograph.
It is particularly suitable for ritchey-chretien (RC) telescopes with an aperture of up to 400 mm (F/8).
The settings are precise and easily accessible: a multi-rotation knob adjusts the focus of the internal M2 mirrors. Use the index to set the centre wavelength of the spectrum on the camera sensor. A vernier (available for each grating type) allows you to precisely adjust the grating to the desired wavelength.
The UVEX is supplied with a 600 tr/mm grating and an adapter ring for ZWO cameras (other rings for QHY and ATIK cameras are also available as options).
The UVEX spectroscope slit has 6 positions that can be easily changed with a Phillips screwdriver (included with the UVEX). Several slit widths are available: 25 µm, 50 µm, 100 µm, 300 µm, a 25 µm aperture and a 3 mm aperture. Other gaps are optionally available (Alpy gaps are compatible with UVEX).
A shock-resistant case is included in the UVEX scope of delivery.
