The sun is the simplest and most natural timekeeper we know. Sundials are therefore the oldest timepieces known to mankind. The time is read from the length or direction of the shadow. The shadow cast by the gnomon can take many different forms: a stick, a thread, a straight edge, a huge obelisk or simply the shape of a person reading the time from their own shadow.
The digital sundial displays both solar time and normal time (CET) and even summer time (CEST). The numbers are projected onto a display field by the sun. And so, with a little wink, we can say that this solar chronometer, the epitome of analogue time display, has arrived in the digital age. With an accuracy of 5 minutes, it is one of the most accurate sundials in the world. Universally adjustable to all locations between Oslo and Cairo.
