For thousands of years, people have been trying to determine the time using astronomical instruments based on the position of the sun in the sky. Even today, sundials with their natural operating principle still hold a special fascination for us.
Solemio is a new and unusual sundial based on the refraction of light. Like a lens, the body collects the light in a focal point that moves across the cylinder during the course of the day. With the help of the printed sun paths, the time can be read when the sundial is correctly aligned – with a little practice, even the date, the position of the sun and the compass points.
The cylinder sundial is made of solid synthetic resin. Height 53 mm, diameter 40 mm.
