The TS parallel mount is a very stable alternative to simple mounts on the counterweight bar or on the tube. The mount can easily support instrument weights of up to 5 kg on each side without twisting.
For which mounts is the attachment suitable?
All Vixen GP mounts, the Astro-5, the Celestron CAM & ADM mounts, all EQ mounts ... i.e. mounts with the quick-release coupling according to the Vixen system.
How do I attach the accessories?
The guide tube or main instrument is clamped with the prism clamp. The clamp accepts all standard prism rails. The rail for the fast coupling can therefore remain on the instrument.
The camera or second recording device is clamped using a 1.25" knurled screw. This is the normal photo tripod connection thread. This allows telephoto lenses, spotting scopes or simply the camera with a normal lens to be clamped in place.
The whole thing is then balanced by simply moving the solid aluminium prism rail of the double mount in the mounting bracket. Once the balance is achieved, the mounting coupling is clamped – done.
