With this drive, you can automate the Pulsar 2.2-metre and 2.7-metre observatory domes. You can easily rotate the observatory using the control panel or control it via a PC (remote operation).
The dome drive is delivered fully pre-assembled and can be easily screwed onto the dome.
The control panel enables the following functions:
- Movement of the dome to the right/left
- Stop
- Display of current position angle
- Display of the Goto position angle
- Display of the current tracking speed
- Change star speed
- Open/close dome gap (only if the additional motor drive for the observation window is installed)
- Move to home position
- Move to park position
- Adjust display brightness
- Battery status and charge control Display dome gap drive (only if the additional motor drive for the observation window is installed)
The supplied PULSAR Observatories software allows you to control all important functions from your computer. The existing ASCOM driver even allows the use of third-party software such as Maxim DL, so nothing stands in the way of full synchronisation with your observatory telescope.
The PULSAR Observatories software supports the following functions:
- Dome movement right/left
- Stop
- Display of current position angle
- Display of the Goto position angle
- Display of current tracking speed
- Change home position
- Change park position
- Display dome gap status
Scope of delivery:
- PULSAR dome drive
- Encoder unit
- power pack
- Mounting
- PC software for WINDOWS
The drive is only used to rotate the dome. An additional motor is required to open the observation window (slit, shutter).
Please note: Under Windows 11, FTDI drivers must be installed manually for the Pulsar app to connect to the dome. Programmes that use ASCOM (N.I.N.A, SGPro, etc.) use virtual COMM ports and are therefore not affected. FTDI drivers can be downloaded via the link on the software and drivers page: https://www.pulsarastro.com/drawings-and-guides-24-w.asp
