This high-quality azimuth mount made of stainless steel and anodised aluminium can carry up to 16 kilograms per side!
Quickly and intuitively set the desired object using the variable slip clutch. Fine adjustment and tracking on both axes can then be carried out using a precision mechanical gear in Losmandy quality: needle bearing and worm wheel with a diameter of 7 cm and 180 teeth, brass worm shaft with ball bearings at both ends.
Further advantages:
- The alignment can be read precisely on the laser-engraved part circles.
- The two saddle plates accommodate prism rails in accordance with both Losmandy and Vixen standards.
- A half column is available as an option to raise the mount by 15 cm.
Ideally suited for solar observation, for example: with the Losmandy AZ8, you can operate one optical system with white light and a second with H-alpha filters in parallel. But also for photographing bright objects: moon, sun, Earth observation. Equip one optical system with a camera and the second parallel optical system with an eyepiece for visual observation.
