The Player One MARS-M mono camera from Artesky is equipped with the highly sensitive Sony IMX290 sensor and has a USB 3.0 connection for fast downloading and transferring data.
The chip diagonal is 6.5 mm.
The new Player One planetary cameras are hexagonal in design.
The SONY IMX290 sensor has a diagonal of 1/2.8" and pixels of 2.9 x 2.9 microns. This sensor format is often used for high-resolution planetary, moon or sunrise shots.
If you want to use a planetary camera for deep sky photography and the surrounding stars are not perfectly pinpoint, you can adjust the tilt angle of the sensor on this camera to obtain a flatter image field. The built-in shadow pad blocks incident stray light and prevents reflections.
Player One cameras ensure the safety of the camera and other connected instruments through overvoltage protection. When connected to the USB3.0 interface and used at full resolution, the camera can reach 136 FPS (frames per second) in RAW 8 mode (10-bit ADC)!
We recommend using a high-quality solid-state drive to record the data in order to get the best performance from the camera. Also, use the ST4 cable with the camera and the AUTOGUIDE connection on your equatorial mount for guiding.
