This small camera combines many useful features for astrophotographers, but also for purely visual observers:
- Automatic alignment: Thanks to Celestron's patented StarSense technology, the telescope aligns itself with the night sky in about three minutes – without any user input: switch it on, wait a moment, and you're ready to go!
- Precise GoTo: Improves the positioning accuracy of your Celestron mount and places celestial objects in the centre of the field of view, even with high-magnification eyepieces and small camera sensors.
- Autoguiding: Precisely tracks celestial objects for pinpoint stars even on long-exposure astrophotography. Eliminates the need for a separate autoguiding camera, guidescope and guiding computer.
- Alignment assistance: Guides you through a simple, automatic process to best align a parallactic mount.
- High-quality four-lens optics: Unique optical design by renowned optician Mark Ackermann, with sharper optics than other mini guides.
- Multiple control options: Use your NexStar+ hand controller or the CPWI software via a PC connected by cable or Wi-Fi.
The camera sensor is built into a four-lens, fully multi-coated optical system with a 28 mm aperture and 120 mm focal length.
Compatibility: The StarSense Autoguider can be used with almost all motorised Celestron mounts, especially the AVX, CGX, CGX-L and CGEM II astrophotography mounts. However, it can also be used with the CPC, NexStar SE and NexStar Evoultion azimuth mounts, which is very useful.
Exceptions are: NexStar SLT, AstroFi, SkyProdigy and LCM. The StarSense Autoguider is not compatible with these mounts.
