The QHY990, QHY991 and QHY992 series cameras are scientific SWIR (Short-Wave Infrared) cameras equipped with Sony InGaAs sensors (IMX990/IMX991/IMX992).
They are characterised by a quantum efficiency (QE) of up to 77% at 1200 nm, as well as a broad spectral range (400–1700 nm) with high sensitivity. Thanks to Cu-Cu bonding technology, the sensor exhibits very low FPN (fixed-pattern noise) and a low rate of defective Pixels.
The QHY990 series supports both air and liquid cooling. Air cooling allows the temperature to be reduced by 35 °C below ambient temperature; liquid cooling achieves 45 °C below ambient temperature when using normal water, and as much as 60 °C to 80 °C below ambient temperature when using coolant. As InGaAs sensors typically have higher dark currents than silicon-based sensors, powerful cooling methods are required.
The QHY990 series cameras feature filter holders for 25 mm filters – a filter format widely used in laboratory applications. The SWIR filter can be easily mounted on the camera, which has a c-mount back focal length of 17.5 mm.
Our expert comment:
The camera comes with thermoelectric air cooling as standard. If you would like the water-cooled version of the QHY900 camera, please contact us.
