The ALccd IMG camera has a CCD sensor and a built-in guiding interface.
With this camera, QHY offers a powerful autoguider. It has a suitable interface for direct connection to your mount controller (autoguider connection and a PC must be available). The IMG camera can also be used for planetary photography in a similar way to a classic webcam.
A 32 MByte buffer (SDRAM) is built into the camera electronics, through which the complete image is downloaded in one piece. This gives you a significantly less noisy transmission result.
The camera requires an external power supply. You can purchase the necessary power supplies as an option. The necessary DC201V voltage converter box is included in the scope of delivery, as is the USB cable required for operation.
For autoguiding with the IMG camera, you need an optional RJ12 autoguider cable. This works e.g. with the controls Koch FS2, Vixen StarBook, Sky-Watcher SynScan, Celestron NexStar, Losmandy Standard and Gemini (also older versions), Takahashi Gemma, Astrophysics, Pulsar and many more.
For autoguiding, we recommend the ASCOM-compatible software packages Astroart Software 6.0 CD-ROM, PHD or MaxIm DL. For recording operation, use ALccd's own EZPlanetary software.
