High resolution, high frame rate
Three typical features make this telescope camera the ideal tool for colour astrophotography: high resolution, high frame rate and low price. With the included IC Capture.AS software, you can write the images to an AVI file without loss and uncompressed.
Fast display of colour images
IC Capture.AS also performs colour interpolation of the raw colour data (RAW format) supplied by the CCD camera, thereby reducing the load on the camera's processor. If, on the other hand, you prefer to perform colour interpolation in the camera, you can activate this function in IC Capture.AS with a simple mouse click. The maximum frame rate is then 15 frames/s. Of course, you can also dispense with colour interpolation altogether and generate AVI files with images in RAW format.
Sony colour CCD
The heart of this Astro CCD camera is a Sony colour CCD of type ICX618AQA. The format of this CCD is 1/4", the resolution is 640 x 480 pixels. Its noise is low even with long exposure times. The high quality of the CCD also allows it to be used in scientific image processing.
IR blocking filters
Unlike the human eye, CCDs are also sensitive to near infrared (wavelengths above 700 nm). This CCD camera contains an IR blocking filter. Its use is therefore recommended whenever this wavelength range would cause interference.
Fast transfer thanks to USB 2.0
The fast output of high-resolution images is a typical feature of this Astro CCD camera. To transfer such large amounts of data, a very fast interface is required - USB 2.0.
Software for Windows included
This camera comes with the IC WDM UVCCAM TIS driver and the IC Capture.AS operating software.
