The DDM60 is the portable model in the DDM series from Austrian high-tech manufacturer ASA.
With the smallest ASA mount model, special attention was paid to transportability and stability (4 tapered roller bearings). This is reflected in the low weight of the axis cross (19 kg, without counterweight bar). The built-in alignment laser and special software allow the mount to be set up precisely in just a few minutes. Even in the dark, the well-designed telescope mounting plate allows the telescope to be mounted safely and quickly.
Since direct drives normally have very high power consumption, ASA and a renowned motor manufacturer have developed a special direct drive for the mounts. This means that a 12V car battery is completely sufficient to operate the DDM60. Even during fast positioning movements, only one to two amps are usually required.
Also included in the scope of delivery:
- Control software Autoslew by Dipl. Phys. Phillip Keller
- Sequence software
- Standard 400 mm counterweight bar
- Two counterweights: 2.6 kg and 5.2 kg
- Telescope mounting plate for 3" Losmandy & GP rail
- Mounting base plate
- Power supply cable
- 12V power pack
- USB cable
- Four cables for internal wiring
The DDM60 is available as a standard version and as a PRO version. The PRO version has a USB hub in the DEK axis and two galvanically isolated lines (0 to 48 volts variable) to supply telescopic instruments, such as cameras or filter wheels, with power. An additional data line can be used, for example, for serial data transfer. All cables are routed through the hollow axis of the mount, preventing the usual "cable clutter".
