The ASA DDM85 is the workhorse of professional astrophotographers!
This mount has long since earned its spurs with dozens of astrophotographers. Some do without additional tracking aids altogether and therefore no longer have to sort out photos. Since the 38 kg axis cross is divisible, the DDM85 is still easy to transport and can be operated without any problems with a mobile power supply. All power and data cables are routed through the large hollow shafts. As an option, this mount can also be mounted on a tripod. This means that the user does not need to perform a meridian flip. The ASA DDM85 has long been used for professional work at universities!
Direct Drive Mount: The DDM mounts feature a gearless direct drive with high torque motors in RA and DEC.
The running accuracy of this mount is so precise that no guiding is required. The running accuracy without autoguider correction over one hour shows peak to peak 0.68 arc seconds or 0.18 arc seconds RMS.
The DDM85 is available in three versions:
- Basic: Load capacity 45 kg. The tiltable base plate ensures safe and quick polar alignment (particularly useful for mobile use).
- Standard: load capacity 65 kg, with traditional adjustable polar wedges
- Premium: Load capacity 100 kg, mounted on a customer-specific articulated column (not included in the price)
The DDM85 Basic and DDM85 Standard come with all necessary cables, counterweights and power supplies, as well as the Autoslew control software by Dipl. Phys. Phillip Keller and the Sequence software.
