The 5 Platonic solids - cut-out and craft sheets
The five Platonic solids are named after the Greek philosopher Plato, who described them in detail in his dialogue "Timaeus" around 400 BC. He saw them as the smallest, invisible building blocks of the world and assigned them to the classical elements, but these solids had been known for much longer; the engraved stone spheres from Scotland, which are up to 5,000 years old, are clear precursors.
This simple kit produces a set of Platonic solids with a uniform edge length of 5 cm, which can also be used as a mobile with the enclosed hanging brackets.
