The adaptor allows cameras, filter changers or off-axis-guiders with an M54x0.75 internal thread to be connected to focusers with an M63x1 internal thread. The adaptor prevents bottlenecks on M48 and thus improves illumination with full-frame cameras.
The adaptor can be unscrewed, providing an M63x1 external thread as an intermediate thread. The adaptor therefore consists of two parts: a reverse adaptor with M63x1 external threads on both sides and a stop edge adaptor with M63x1 internal thread and M54x0.75 external thread.
Some filter wheels or filter drawers only have a short M54 internal thread. With a length of 6 mm, the external thread of the adaptor could block the function of the filter wheel. The thread can be shortened with M54 adjustment rings, which are simply placed over the external thread. The adjustment rings are linked in the accessories section.
