This camera adaptor eliminates wave patterns caused by interference on monochromatic solar images.
When photographing the sun with long focal lengths in monochromatic light, such as H-alpha, the appearance of lines (Newton's rings) on the image is a common problem caused by reflections of nearly parallel light beams in the image sensor.
The Interference Eliminator tilts the camera by up to 5°, but leaves the centre of the sensor in the same place, so that the focus, image section and vignetting remain unchanged. This tilt changes the angle of incidence and the optical path in the sensor, thereby reducing or even completely eliminating the interference.
The Interference Eliminator is designed for use with small aperture ratios, ideally 1:30, as is common with most DayStar filters.
