Product description

With this all-rounder from Atik, you can take great photos of planets and deep sky objects alike – it's also ideal for guiding!

For a very good price, you get a versatile instrument and don't have to choose between a planetary camera or a CCD for deep sky photography.

Thanks to its active cooling, the readout noise is low enough to allow fine details to appear on long-exposure images. However, in planetary photography, it is not sensitivity but resolution and speed that are decisive. The Atik Titan can do both!

  • Planets, moon and sun: in high-speed mode, the Titan takes up to 15 images per second. Thanks to the high frame rate, the camera captures those precious moments when the seeing allows a clear view of the planet's surface. Subsequent image processing (stacking) allows you to compose a complete image from the best individual images. The uncompressed 16-bit format also allows low-contrast structures, such as fine swirls in Jupiter's clouds, to stand out.
  • DeepSky: Thanks to its low readout noise, the Titan also impresses in DeepSky mode. Its advanced cooling allows long exposure times for faint objects such as planetary nebulae and galaxies.
  • Guiding: The Atik Titan is also an ideal guiding camera due to its combination of sensitivity and high frame rate. It has a standard ST-4 connection for direct connection to a computer-controlled mount. The included recording software from Atik is suitable as guiding software.

With the Atik software included in the scope of delivery, you can carry out all the necessary image processing steps, so you don't need to rely on other programs.

Scope of delivery includes:

  • Camera
  • USB cable, 3 metres
  • Power cable, 1.8 metres, with cigarette lighter connection
  • CD-ROM with drivers, software and instructions (PDF)
  • Quick start guide hard copy

The camera is available in both monochrome and colour versions. All cameras are compatible not only with Atik Capture software, but also with Astroart and Maxim DL. The minimum system requirement for Atik software is a Pentium III PC with 128MB RAM.
