The new premium binoculars by DDoptics EDX-hr (high resolution): Discover a completely new world
EDX high resolution (EDXhr) stands for the maximum optical experience with luminous colours, high resolution and image acuity as well as an unprecedented image brightness.
The design of the EDXhr mirrors its performance
Chosen designs and materials have been well combined and offer a unique and elegant tone to the binoculars. The short bridge with only one bar is not only an eye-catcher, but also ensures an optimal and secure grip.
Extra large Schmidt Pechan high performance prisms offer a fantastic observation experience in three dimensions. Spacial vision and acuity up to the fringes in combination with a large field of view of 115m enable the observer to feel right in the middle of the action.
- better light transmission and brightness
- high resolution imaging (HR)
- natural colour system
- extra large Schmidt Pechan prisms
- ergonomical eye cups of the EDX series
- 115m field of view
- magnesium pressure casting
- small bridge with just one bar
Light transmission with peak values for bird watching
The PHC 140 phase correction coating, newly developed for the EDXhr series, eliminates 99 percent of all unwanted wave optics effects, thereby preventing even the slightest blurring. A dielectric phase mirror creates the conditions for total light transmission of up to 94 percent. And all this with remarkably good contrast.
Full Contrast Optics allows the contours of feathers to stand out clearly.
As important as the brightness of your binoculars is for bright colours, contrast is just as crucial for the brilliance of the image. The binoculars in the EDXhr series have been specially developed to show even the smallest differences in colour and brightness with extremely differentiated contrast. What does this mean? Firstly, the contrast range of binoculars is defined as the range between the brightest and darkest points. However, the brilliance of an image does not depend solely on the contrast range. The intermediate levels of differentiation are also important. Depending on the number of these differentiation levels, your binoculars are able to convey image information and thus give the impression of detail and sharpness.
Flare Reduction Optics
In sports optics, stray light is diffuse light that is caused by reflections within lenses and camera housings. Stray light has been reduced in EDXhr binoculars to such an extent that stray light effects are hardly noticeable, even when deliberately provoked. This virtually eliminates image blurring when the moon is directly in front or to the side, or when the sun is shining from the side. All DDoptics binoculars are equipped with a system to prevent stray light. However, this system is most advanced in the EDXhr binoculars.
Direction of rotation of the focusing wheel (particularly interesting for birdwatchers and ornithologists)
The binoculars in the EDXhr and EDX Fieldstar series focus from near to far by turning clockwise. We have adopted the rotation direction of the "big three" manufacturers in order to avoid any problems with users' habits. However, this does not offer any technical advantages.
Function determines design
Perfection is non-negotiable. After just a few seconds of use, you will know whether your binoculars fit comfortably in your hand, whether the view through them is impressive and whether the mechanics are convincing. The edges incorporated into the armouring of the 10x42 EDXhr binoculars significantly improve grip and ensure a perfect hold, even in wet weather. The smoothness and precision of the focus wheel will particularly impress professional ornithologists. A "Smart Focus" with automatic focus adjustment on the 8x42 ensures a focus range from 50 m to infinity (from 60 m on the 10x42), within which readjustment is hardly necessary.
Robustness for a lifetime in nature
DDoptics binoculars are subjected to relentless endurance testing. From arctic cold to temperatures just below boiling point, tropical humidity and water baths included. So that your 10x42 EDXhr binoculars are ready for use at any time and in any environment. The EDXhr binoculars are made from magnesium (die-cast body) and duralumin (wear parts), making them ideal for use in harsh environments.
Rotating metal eyepiece cups with four positions
Both spectacle wearers and non-spectacle wearers can adjust the eyepiece to the optimum distance from their eyes. The indestructible duralumin eyepiece cups protect the eyepieces perfectly and can be completely removed for cleaning.
